Stichting Studiezalen and the Goodman Foundation have extended their impact work together, forming a three-year partnership focused on expanding access to education, mentoring and community support for young people in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The partnership is a long-term commitment to creating a practical, measurable impact by strengthening academic progress and building confidence as students prepare to enter the workforce.

Stichting Studiezalen provides structured study spaces, life coaching and community support for students who are balancing academic ambitions with work and family responsibilities. Many are the first in their families to pursue further education and do not have access to professional networks or role models who can guide them through higher education pathways.

Over the past year, Stichling Studiezalen and the Goodman Foundation have supported 1,500 students, more than doubling its reach, by offering a suitable space to study with access to dedicated mentoring, study skills and thesis writing support, workshops, and networking activities. Through the partnership 45 students received professional certificates in courses such as first aid, digital skills and AI and a further a 27 students secured an internship.

A participant in the mentoring program, Charlotte van der Putten, Legal Counsel at Goodman Netherlands has seen the benefits first hand. “Meeting the students and hearing about their ambitions provided valuable insight into the challenges they face in accessing the labour market, and the determination they bring to their education. It was an honour to provide insights that might help them in the workforce,” she said.
