The Goodman Foundation supports the rehabilitation of a football pitch in Ile-Saint-Denis

The Goodman Foundation is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of the people in our community. We partner with like-minded local organisations to fund explicit projects and activities that have clearly defined timelines and outcomes and in doing so, provide real support where it is needed most. Since its creation, the Goodman Foundation has been involved in charity projects aimed at implementing concrete local actions in favour of children and education.

As part of the project led by the organisation ‘Sport dans la Ville’, the Goodman Foundation has chosen to provide financial support for the rehabilitation of a football pitch. This pitch is located in the heart of the Thorez-Géraux neighbourhood, on the Ile-Saint-de-Denis, in the Seine-Saint-Denis department.

Sport can be seen as a strong axis of social cohesion, which is fully in line with the values promoted by Goodman. Thanks to ‘Sport dans la Ville’, 150 young people aged 6 to 22 will be supported during this first year. Free football and cardioboxing sessions will take place every Wednesday and Saturday. They will be supervised by professional sports educators, employed by the organisation.

"The rehabilitation of this sports centre corresponds with our desire to be as close as possible to the communities we interact with. We are very happy to contribute to the creation of this new football pitch" said Philippe Arfi, Director of Goodman France.
