Goodman is enabling Lesara AG to provide fashion even faster to its consumers as it hands over a new logistics centre at the Erfurt freight village (GVZ). The international online fashion and lifestyle product retailer is consolidating its logistics network with this cutting-edge facility and looking to further boost its consistent growth in Europe in recent years. The inauguration event held today was attended by including Wolfgang Tiefensee, Business Secretary of Thuringia, Steffen Linnert, the Erfurt city council representative for Economics, Civic Service and Security, and Matthias Wilrich COO of Lesara, along with other senior political and business leaders.
Speaking at the inauguration, Matthias Wilrich, co-founder and COO of Lesara said: “We are delighted that our new logistics centre was completed in record time. With this new central warehouse we can further optimise our processes and deliver even faster and better to our customers in Germany and throughout Europe. Goodman is a reliable partner whose expertise and longstanding experience has produced a modern, sustainable solution for our online retail logistics.”
Lesara will start using the 60,000 sqm available in its new facility as its central European distribution centre with immediate effect. Lesara is maximsing the 31,600 sqm floor space with an innovative pick tower, almost doubling the capacity of the facility. In the future more than 100,000 items will be shipped from the new facility to 24 European countries and Lesara will benefit from the excellent infrastructure and the freight village which is located 10 km east of Erfurt.
In creating this logistics facility for Lesara, Goodman leveraged its experience having developed over one million sqm of logistics space for online retail in Continental Europe.
The property is expected to receive a gold certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
