Goodman Nederland, part of Goodman Group, the real estate group that owns, develops and manages logistics real estate worldwide, announced today during the PROVADA Real Estate Fair it will develop up to 180,000 m² of new high-quality distribution centres in three strategic locations in the Netherlands in the second part of this year.
Lien Standaert, Country Manager of Goodman Nederland said, "Our strategy is focused on finding the right redevelopment opportunities in strategic locations where our customers want to be. While supply is constrained, we are still finding good quality sites that will appeal to customers that are often looking for locations near densely populated areas to be able to offer their customers faster delivery and better service.”
Amsterdam
In addition to the construction of a new warehouse for DPD in the “De Nieuwe Liede” industrial estate near Amsterdam, Goodman will also be developing two distribution centres with a total of 46,000 m². The space is flexible, with leases available from 7,900 m².
The De Nieuwe Liede industrial estate is a logistics hotspot near Amsterdam, at the junction of the A9 and A200, and is centrally located in relation to the port of Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport. The traffic connection runs via the new ring road that connects to the N205 (Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Lisse and The Hague) and the A9 towards Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Schiphol and Utrecht.
Oosterhout
In Oosterhout, Goodman has consolidated 12.5 hectares of land what will now be the Goodman Oosterhout Logistics Centre. The site will be redeveloped in phases, starting with the construction of an ultramodern 70,000 m² distribution centre. It is strategically located along the A27 at the Vijf Eiken business park, between the important supply routes of the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. Additionally, it’s close to the container terminals in Oosterhout and Tilburg, which makes diverse multimodal transport possible.
Maarssen
Goodman has purchased 3.5 hectares in the popular business park "Lageweide" in the heart of The Netherlands for redevelopment. Demolition of the old printing works has commenced, with Goodman set to develop a 25,000 m² distribution centre which is perfectly accessible from the A2 motorway and close to the Utrecht container terminal.
Lien Standaert concluded, “We are seeing high demand for high-quality industrial properties in strategic locations as evidenced by our recent lease commitments with Tegelgroep Nederland B.V in Bemmel for a 21,000 m² logistics centre and the development for DPD Nederland. This is giving us confidence to kick off construction in these three locations.”
