Goodman Group (“Goodman” or “Group”), a leading global owner, developer and manager of industrial real estate, has acquired a 43,000 sqm logistics facility at the L’Isle d’Abeau Logistics Park, near Lyon, France and also signed an agreement with Groupe Auchan to lease the entire facility.
The L’Isle d’Abeau Logistics Park is the largest logistics park in France, totalling two million sqm of warehousing space, making it one of the largest in Europe. The warehouse, the only grade-A logistics building available in the Lyon region, was acquired by Goodman European Partnership (GEP), Goodman’s flagship European real estate investment vehicle.
“This new acquisition adds an important new property to our portfolio in France, in a location characterised by high demand for grade-A facilities but limited available supply,” said Emmanuel Van der Stichele, GEP Director of Investment Management. “The acquisition in L’Isle d’Abeau further strengthens our best-in-class logistics real estate portfolio.”

New acquisition fully leased – strengthening retail experience
Groupe Auchan’s subsidiary, Organisation Intra Groupe des Achats, is leasing the 43,000 sqm facility from Goodman, which provides 42,000 sqm of warehousing space and 1,000 sqm of office space. Operating in 16 countries, Groupe Auchan is one of the world’s largest retailers, with more than 330,000 employees and a turnover of €63 billion.

On completion of current projects, Goodman will have provided almost 500,000 sqm of logistics space for the retail and e-commerce sectors in France.
L’Isle d’Abeau Logistics Park benefits from easy access to the Lyon motorway network, including the A6 to Paris, the A7 to Marseille and the A42 to Geneva. Furthermore, the facility is located a mere 10 kilometres from Lyon Saint Exupéry International Airport. The Lyon region is the second-highest consumption hub in France and the second largest logistics market after Paris, with more than five million sqm of warehouse space.
