UTC has chosen Goodman Logistics Park in Jažlovice for its new European distribution centre

Monday, 20 April 2015

Goodman Czech Republic, a subsidiary of Goodman Group, today announced the conclusion of lease agreement with UTC, a leading European distributor of household goods. Commencing as of November 1, 2014, UTC enters into the 7-years long lease of the 8,300 sqm premises in the Goodman logistics park in Jažlovice.

UTC’s new distribution centre consists of 6,808 sqm of warehouse area, 1,180 sqm of mezzanine space and additional newly built 307 sqm of the UTC’s management offices and operational support. From there UTC will manage their business operations at the Estonian, Kazakh, Lithuanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovakian and Ukrainian markets.

“Relocation of basically complete management is a big challenge for any company but thanks to the unique location of Jažlovice and the conclusion of a long-term partnership with company such as Goodman in terms of their format we are confident that we have made a great decision,” says Paul Roncken, Chief Executive Officer, UTC. “We expect the new, more efficiently adjusted logistics processes to have a positive impact on our entire business in the Central and Eastern Europe regions.”

In addition to specific technical requirements, one of the selection criteria for the new headquarters location included also good transport accessibility to/from Prague – apart from warehouse spaces, the new object shall also offer comfortable offices for the UTC’s administrative employees.

Goodman logistics park Jažlovice is situated directly at an important logistics hub adjacent to the D1 highway and offers an excellent accessibility to Prague, Brno and Ostrava as well as to the borders of Austria, Germany and Slovakia. Its tenants benefit from technically advanced logistics facilities with a scalable solution allowing to keep the operational costs low, and from flexible rental terms and conditions.

“Location of our park and the ability to adapt to the demands of our clients stemming from rather varied industries allows us to maintain a strong position on the highly competitive Czech market,” commented Jan Palek, Country Manager for Czech Republic and Slovakia, Goodman. “I am confident that during the next seven years UTC will be satisfied in Jažlovice, not even excluding the option that there may be many years more to continue working together.”
